Trafficking and release of mycobacterial lipids in infected macrophages
WL Beatty, ER Rhoades, H-J Ullrich, D Chatterjee, JE Heuser and DG Russell

Trafficking of labeled mycobaterial lipids within the macrophage endosomal network. Analysis of the movement of Texas-Red hydrazide-labeled mycobacterial glycoconjugates released into the endosomal/lysosomal continuum of these live BMMø, reveals the dynamic nature of this membranous labyrinth. The bacilli appear as intensely fluorescent rods in the perinuclear region of the cell. The videos play at 20X real time.
